Project: #391 Evaluating Pittsburgh's Universal Basic Mobility Pilot Program Progress Report - Reporting Period Ending: Sept. 30, 2022 Principal Investigator: Lee Branstetter Status: Active Start Date: March 21, 2022 End Date: June 30, 2023 Research Type: Advanced Grant Type: Research Grant Program: FAST Act - Mobility National (2016 - 2022) Grant Cycle: 2022 Mobility21 UTC Progress Report (Last Updated: Sept. 29, 2022, 6 a.m.) % Project Completed to Date: 10 % Grant Award Expended: 10 % Match Expended & Document: 10 USDOT Requirements Accomplishments The initial IRB protocol, approved this summer, described a recruiting strategy that relied on Manchesters Citizens Corporation and their partner, Mobilify, to recruit up to 100 participants. While these organizations were confident that they could recruit at least this many residents, their recruiting efforts have not been successful. We are therefore pivoting to a new recruiting strategy that relies much more heavily on text message invitations, sent through DHS. This new recruiting strategy is now under review at the IRB. Impacts Because of the need to pivot to a new recruiting strategy, the project is effectively on hold. Other No outputs to date. Outcomes New Partners No new partners. Issues As described above, the community-based nonprofit group the city has partnered with from the inception of this project, Manchester Citizens Corporation, has been unable to deliver on their promise to recruit 100 participants from their community. This has required a change in recruiting strategy.
