Project: #335 Real-Time Traffic Analytics at Intersections Progress Report - Reporting Period Ending: Sept. 30, 2020 Principal Investigator: Srinivasa Narasimhan Status: Active Start Date: July 1, 2020 End Date: June 30, 2021 Research Type: Applied Grant Type: Research Grant Program: FAST Act - Mobility National (2016 - 2022) Grant Cycle: 2020 Mobility21 UTC Progress Report (Last Updated: Oct. 5, 2020, 6:23 a.m.) % Project Completed to Date: 30 % Grant Award Expended: 30 % Match Expended & Document: 30 USDOT Requirements Accomplishments Advanced algorithm development to identify anomalous vehicle travel patterns. Applied algorithms to live video streams found on the internet. Potential collaborative opportunities presented through FHWA. Submitted and was awarded an NSF CPS grant for extending the work. Dissemination accomplished through building a website, seminars, and various project meetings. Will continue algorithm development and seek more collaborations and video streams from PennDOT. Impacts Novel algorithms for computing high level analytics on anomalous activity by cars on the road that can be used by connected vehicles for path planning and collision avoidance. Other Website: http://platformpgh.cs.cmu.edu/ Novel algorithms 4D reconstruction of vehicles. Database of video available to researchers. Outcomes New Partners New potential partner in FHWA Issues Slight issue with deployment (cameras and computer at an intersection) going down due to work in the area. Working with DOMI to correct problem.
